China: Chinese Officials Shut Down Large House Church

According to VOM A large, unregistered house church in Beijing was formally shut down, after an extended battle with Chinese officials. The Shouwang Church first ran into trouble with the government, when they were evicted from a rented property. Since then, they have been meeting outdoors and in smaller venues across the city, while Pastor Jin Tianming has spent under house arrest. The church had attempted to register with the government, but their application was rejected because they insisted on making God the center of the church rather than the Communist Party.
